Outings

Join one of our club outings to somewhere the leader finds special: an old woods, a birding hotspot, a riverside walk, a favourite sanctuary. From raptor migrations to the Christmas bird count, from local wetlands to the Great Lake shorelines, there is a whole lot of nature out there to see and share! Outing leaders can be experts or just enthusiastic observers, but whatever the case, you can always count on learning something new about the natural world.

Non-members are welcome to attend any outing. This year both members and non-members will be asked to sign a Waiver Form at the start of the outing.

We schedule as many outings per month as there are people willing to lead them. If you have a special place that you like to visit, why not share it with other members?

Do you know a great place to explore nature but don’t want to be a leader? Suggest a “meet ’n’ greet.” You set a time and place and everybody just walks and enjoys together without a leader. Easy and no stress!

If you would like to lead an outing, or suggest an outing destination, please contact outings@waterlooregionnature.ca.

For information on a specific outing, please contact the outing leader.
