Date: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Meeting Place: Parking lot of the Park Store
Leaders: Marco & Donna DeBruin 519-658-5372
Description:
Let’s explore the oak savannah and freshwater dune habitat of Pinery Provincial Park just south of
Grand Bend, Ontario. This could give us an opportunity to see a variety of fall migrants as well as a
number of other flora and fauna. Tufted Titmouse and Purple Finches are common here. The park
also has a very informative Visitor Centre.
Most trails here are not too challenging but good hiking boots or shoes are recommended. As in
much of southern Ontario, we also need to be aware of Black-legged (Deer) Ticks.
We plan to be camping in the park, so you will need to find your own way there. Park entrance fees
will apply. Should you need to contact us on the previous day, try my cell 226-220-6978.
There is no planned rain date for this outing.
