Bird Friendly City Kitchener is hosting lots of interesting events and outings around the city based out of the Square Peg space at Kitchener City Hall.
We will stop at various spots to search for waterfowl, raptors, migrating warblers, thrushes, flycatchers and anything else that captures our interest. A moderate amount of walking is involved, but nothing too strenuous.
Join this outing to explore a top birding hot spot: Rondeau Provincial Park, known for Carolinian Forest and proximity to Lake Erie. Migrant Songbirds are the Park's main attraction at this time of year. Maximum of 15 participants.
Come have a look at our property beside the Nith River. We'll be examining periwinkle and other invasive concerns, and looking at prospects to expand our impact here.

A joint outing to the nationally significant Carden Alvar with the Peterborough Field Naturalists. Limited to 30 participants (15 per club).
Join this outing to explore birding hot spots in the Glen Morris area and northern Brant County. This area is known for its Carolinian Forest and proximity to the Grand River. Maximum of 15 participants.
We will walk the 3-4 km trail looking at trees coming into leaf and talk about the 2 species (red and white) of trillium growing there as well as the many other spring ephemerals found in this rich woods.
