WRN Teens – Invasive Species

Saturday, October 27 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Garlic Mustard Pull 2016
Garlic Mustard Pull 2016

For teens registered in the WRN Teens program.

We will be removing invasive species at rare Charitable Research Reserve.

The offices for rare are in Lamb's Inn at 1679 Blair Road, in the Blair part of Cambridge.  We'll meet at Lamb's Inn and we'll be working right behind the building.  This time we will be tackling the removal of non-native and invasive plants (Lesser Periwinkle, Lily of the Valley and Day Lily) to allow native plants to grow. This is important to rare because native plants are the foundation of natural ecosystems and do a better job of providing food and shelter for native wildlife.

As usual, dress to work outside and wear closed shoes.  Last time we discovered working outside is thirsty work so please bring a refillable water bottle.

We'd be happy to welcome more Teens to join WRN Teens!  If you have friends who are interested, please have them register or get in touch at teens@waterlooregionnature.ca .
