Nature’s lessons on how to get through winter

Sunday, February 2 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

All ages/families are welcome to join on this interpretive hike in Waterloo Park. We will experience some creative and ingenious ways nature adapts to survive winter and what we can learn from them for our own well being this season. Even in this very urban part of the city you can feel immersed in nature by the flowing water of the creek and from the shelter of the dense trees the trail winds through.

The group will meet at baseball diamond #1 near the skate park. Access via Father David Bauer Dr may be easiest.

The outing will cover about 1 km within the park. There may be deeper snow in spots, and a few short steep inclines, but otherwise the trail is flat. Please be sure to dress for the weather conditions and wear suitable footwear.

Washrooms are available at the Waterloo Rec. Centre, near the start/end point.

The maximum # of participants is 20. Non-members are welcome to attend. All attendees – both members and non-members – will be required to sign an insurance waiver.

Please register by emailing the outing leader directly at the address below.
