Description:  These woods in southwest Kitchener are a gem, and a walk in nature is a perfect way to offset Blue Monday. Significant work has been done to make the pond and trails accessible, but a longer walk will encounter several inclines and some uneven ground. We will walk through hemlock wetland and maple/beech/oak forest observing watercourses, animal tracks, birds, winter trees, and some interesting wildlife-friendly infrastructure. Significant home building around these woods is likely over the next few years, so this might be the last season they’re quiet for some time.

Dress for the weather, of course, and perhaps bring a snack for the wind-down. Trails may be icy so cramp-ons and walking sticks or poles are advised.  Washrooms are not available.

Registration is required.  Non-members are welcome but they will need to sign an insurance waiver.
