Learning together-Mill Race Trail
Sunday, October 22, 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
This trail is a very easy flat dirt trail with a mill race on the left, no longer in use, and the Conestogo River on the right. A mill run is the channel for a flow of water that powers the water wheel in a watermill. The habitat contains a variety of trees, shrubs and vegetation common to bottomlands. These include cedar, basswood, ash, jack-in-the-pulpit, honeysuckle, and wild cucumber. There are always lots of birds on this trail.
On this outing we will all learn from each other. We will be taking in all of nature’s delights along the way with a bit of a focus on the idea of farming and the environment. Each of you can contribute some knowledge to this outing by spending a very short time doing a bit of research on mill runs or farming. We can share what we learn along the way. Or perhaps you will check out the trial beforehand and find a delight you will show us. Or you can just share what you know. We will learn from each other!
