Learning together – West Side Trails

Sunday, October 1, 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Learning together outings are designed to learn from each other during the walk.  We take in nature’s delights along the way. This is a great way to get out and share our interest in nature and all that it has to offer.

The focus on this walk is urban forests – they need to be cherished!   They increase our quality of life by encouraging physical activity. They reduce air pollution, cool temperatures in the summer and protect biodiversity.  Urban forests affect urban wildlife behaviour and can alter the ecology of urban wildlife. The interactions between humans and wildlife and the impacts of urbanisation on these wildlife populations cannot be ignored.

Westside Trails has somewhat hilly dirt trails. This woodlot contains rare plants, migratory breeding birds and a variety of wildlife.

Accessibility: The trail has natural and woodchip surface. Some people may find the inclines challenging.
Meeting point: will be sent to people who register.
