Join Stewart for this excursion to the fringes of Laurel Creek Conservation Area and Waterloo Park, as we search for early Fall Migrants, Wading Birds and Raptors. Target Species will include Black-Crowned Night Heron, Great Egret, Green Heron as well as migrating Warblers, Vireos and other Songbirds.
The outing will consist of 2 parts and each portion will involve about 2 kms of walking along flat and dry surfaces.
Stewart will bring a spotting scope which will come in handy during the Laurel Lake portion of the outing.
The Outing will proceed RAIN OR SHINE. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring binoculars as well as suitable clothing and water/snacks for the excursion.
We will meet at the Parking Lot of the Stork Family Y for the first part of the excursion and the second part will involve travelling to the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Center. Washrooms are available at each Location.
Stewart will email all participants a few days before the outing with more information.
It is always Wonderful to see the diversity of Avian Species within the City Limits of Waterloo and hoping you can join us for this Excursion!
