In previous years, the annual WRN Great Backyard Bird Count outing has been an eagerly anticipated social event. We visited several houses during the day where the hosts plied us with hot cider, coffee and snacks as we counted birds. This year the event will be self-hosted and you will have to supply your own refreshments. Take time (at least 15 minutes) during the weekend of Feb 12-15 to count birds in your backyard and neighbourhood, and then submit the results. Join people from all over the world in contributing to citizen science.
How to Participate
Participating is easy, fun to do alone, or with others, and can be done anywhere you find birds.
Choose the easiest way for you to share your birds:
If you don’t already have an eBird/Merlin/Project Feederwatch account, it’s easy to set one up at the eBird website.
