Stamm Woodlot is a beautiful hardwood sugar bush on Waterloo’s northern border. Most of our route is a wide trail over gently rolling terrain, some wood-chipped. The focus of the outing will be learning to identify some of Waterloo Region’s ferns. This mature forest is my favourite bush, in the Region, for ferns. We should be able to find about 10 species on the property, some uncommon in the area.
