DNA-based Methods in Conservation of Fish Species At Risk
Monday, November 24 @ 7:30 pm
Let’s join Dr.Robert (Bob) Hanner as he presents DNA-based methods in the conservation of fish species-at-risk (SAR).
Bob Hanner is a Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology and Biodiversity Institute of Ontario at the University of Guelph. His research focuses on the “assembly and curation of genetic resource collections, involving everything from fieldwork methodologies to bioinformatics approaches. With the window of sampling opportunity closing for much of the World’s biodiversity, the global DNA Barcoding initiative offers an outstanding opportunity to compile a well-characterized genetic resource collection of immense scope.”
