Some good news!
The City of Waterloo has agreed to purchase the Laurel Creek Nature Centre lands from the Grand River Conservation Authority. The city intends to maintain the property as publicly usable parkland and community green space while exploring opportunities for a portion of the property to be developed as an Indigenous gathering space.
This special property holds a place in the hearts of many WRN people – the outdoor educators, the teachers and school children who visited there, and the leaders, parents, teens and children of our WRN Kids and WRN Teens programs.
