Earth Day Community Cleanup

Our April outing was at Gzowski Park in Kitchener, and we cleaned up garbage for Earth Day! It was a warm wet spring day. We went around the park cleaning up garbage with little claws, buckets and bags. It was really fun! A community member saw us cleaning up and decided to help us. At the end there were prizes for who found the most garbage in different categories, and who found things in silly categories like “who traveled the furthest?” and “who found a shoe?”
We also saw 50 snails in the gardens. We found a really deep hole and we wondered who lived in it. It was a great park and it looked much better after we finished. It’s amazing what a difference 6 people can make.
